2021 Chevy Trailblazer MSRP, Full Price Announced

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Between the tiny Chevrolet Trax and the largest Equinox, the new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is one of the latest additions to the burgeoning subcompact crossover class. The name Trailblazer has been absent since 2009 in the United States. In many ways, this reboot follows the same playbook of the largest Blazer SUV that Chevy reintroduced last year.

For starters, the Trailblazer is similar to the Blazer in that it has almost nothing to do with its ancestor other than the name. The old TrailBlazer (with a capital “B”) was a medium-sized SUV based on a truck. This new Trailblazer is a smaller crossover SUV with automotive architecture. Like the Blazer, the Trailblazer 2021 adopts some Camaro-shaped exterior styles for a, particularly aggressive look.

Inside, it’s much more conventional and probably user-friendly thanks to Chevy’s latest infotainment that allows two Bluetooth devices connected simultaneously. Notable options are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a power liftgate.

Standard safety features include front-collision mitigation, lane maintenance assistance, rear passenger recall, and automatic high beams. As an option, you can add adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross alert.

The Trailblazer deviates slightly from other subcompact crossovers by offering the Activ trim level that Chevy says is set for off-road use. However, don’t expect to get the kind of off-road supremacy of a Jeep. The Activ trim only adds specialized all-season tires, revised shock absorbers and a little more ground clearance from a remodeled front fascia. It also equips the vehicle with roof rails on a two-tone roof.

Buyers can choose between two engines: a turbocharged 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine or a slightly larger 1.3-liter four-cylinder. So far, Chevrolet has given only a power specification for the largest engine: 155 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard, although 2021 Chevy Trailblazer with the 1.3-liter engine and all-wheel drive get a nine-speed automatic.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Full Price Announced

The new 2021 Chevy Trailblazer MSRP is officially Chevy’s cheapest SUV, starting at $19,995. Chevy had already announced that this crossover would start under $20,000, and now we have more information, including price details on the rest of the finishing levels of this new model, which include L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

The L base model is the one with this attractive price of less than $20,000. It comes standard with a turbo 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower, a continuously variable transmission, and a front-wheel-drive. A 7.0-inch touchscreen is standard and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Trailblazer LS starts at $22,495 and opens the all-wheel-drive option, which costs an extra $2,000. Checking this box also adds a more powerful 1.3-liter three-cylinder turbocharged that makes 155 horsepower, and the LS also gets 17-inch wheels as opposed to the L’s 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers.

At $24,595, the LT adds more equipment and comes standard with a 1.2-liter engine and front-wheel drive. The more powerful 1.3-liter engine is a standalone option at this level with front-wheel drive, and the LT AWD model costs $2000 more and comes standard with the larger engine.

The Trailblazer Activ, starting at $26,395, is positioned as an off-road trim level and comes with a larger grille opening, different 17-inch wheels, and Hankook Sport Terrain tires, as well as different settings for shock absorbers. The front and all-wheel-drive versions of the Activ are standard with the 1.3L engine, and the all-wheel-drive costs $1500 more here.

Chevy says the Trailblazer RS, starting at $26,395, is the sportiest in the group, but its unique features essentially amount to appearance settings. Like the Activ, the 1.3L engine is standard at all levels, and all-wheel drive is $1500 more.
