For now, only the new Trailblazer will offer wireless smartphone integration, even if it is spreading into more vehicles shortly. The package of technology is a component, however, it will be offered only on top of the crossover is two levels of Trim, ACTIV and RS.

Other elements in the technology package include the Chevrolet infotainment 3 plus System, HD Radio, 7-speaker Bose Premium, Adaptive cruise control, HD rear camera, improved 4.2-inch diagonal multi-color display with information about the screen controller and LED headlights.

Interestingly, even the new 2021 Buick Encore GX, Trailblazer corporate cousin, currently does not offer wireless smartphone integration. It might change.

Why GM put Trailblazer wireless smartphone integration instead of more premium Encore GX? The report did not provide an answer, but a respectable estimate by Trailblazer is a more affordable price tag. Its top two Trim levels are probably cheaper than the comparably equipped Encore GX.

Not bad at all for GM’s most affordable brands.

As with Buick Encore GX, Trailblazer offers two different turbocharged motors, 1.2-liter and 1.3-liter. The former produces the same 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft torque and the second generates 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft.

The 1.2-liter engine is supplied only with the front-wheel drive and is equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while the 1.3-liter offers an optional all-wheel-drive and is supplied exclusively with nine-speed.

We will not be able to fully evaluate the Trailblazer until we get our hands on one, but if the Trax is any indication, Trailblazer’s performance will be underwhelming.

There are no numbers related to Trailblazer to save fuel, but Buick claims combined 31 mpg on Encore GX, so a similar number could be seen here because of the share of engines.

Set to arrive at the beginning of 2020, the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer joins the carmaker crossover family sitting between Trax and Equinox. The ongoing Chevy is a crossover Design language, 2021 Trailblazer, a label that disappeared in the U.S. in 2009, arrives with RS trim and two-tone roofs as standard.
