The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox really catches your eye with its new sporty look. Notable design improvements include a more aggressive grille, new LED headlights, and redesigned front and rear fascias. Chevrolet also adds a new RS trim to the Equinox lineup, with a shiny black grille, black side rails, black badging, black knots, 19-inch dark Android wheels, black interior tapestry, red seam, and an RS shift button.

The Equinox Premier trim also gets some nice upgrades, with a shiny black grille with chrome inserts, 19-inch machine-facing wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a logo projection liftgate, a glossy finish on the console and French seams.

Despite the fact that it is only a refreshment, the 2021 Chevy Equinox Redesign is undergoing dramatic changes in terms of exterior style. Taking after the Chevy Blazer, the Equinox gains a larger grille and narrower, tilted headlights to give the front end a much more aggressive look. Around the back, he sees updated taillights and in-bumper exhaust points. The Equinox 2021 will also add the popular RS trim which, when fitted, will bring a black grille, darker wheels, and black emblems and badges.

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox has been awarded the prestigious IIHS Top Safety Pick. For the 2021 model year, the Equinox offers an even safer ride with its expanded range of safety-enhancing driving assist technologies. All Equinox 2021 models are standard with Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, a Rear Vision Camera, Forward Collision Alert, IntelliBeam Headlights, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking.

Driver assistance technologies available for the Equinox 2021 include safety alert seats, automatic parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, HD surround vision camera system, lane change alert with side blind area alert, rear park assistance, front park assistance, and rear crossing traffic alert.

Inside, not many changes by the current 2021 Chevy Equinox. It will continue to boast an elegant design with lots of sloppiness on its dashboard, light color contrasts, a standard 7-inch optional 8-inch HD touchscreen, a clean HVAC interface, unique textured fabric seats, and a sporty three-ray steering wheel.

Despite the design changes, there will be no changes under the hood. This means that the current 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque will remain the standard engine. The optional engine will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that pumps 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The transmissions remain the same: a six-speed automatic for the basic engine and a nine-speed automatic for the 2.0-liter engine.

The current Equinox is a superior safety choice of the IIHS thanks to its “Superior” crash test scores, it’s standard “Superior” automatic emergency braking and the “acceptable” HID headlights. Surprisingly, the top-of-the-range LED projector headlights received a lower “marginal” rating. We expect the features and safety ratings to remain unchanged for the Equinox 2021.
