2021 Chevy Trailblazer News The Chevrolet Trailblazer is ready for a comeback this spring, but it’s not the Trailblazer you remember. While the Trailblazer of yesteryear was a large SUV body-on-frame, the reborn Trailblazer returns as a small split cross between the Trax and Equinox.
Oh, and it has three-cylinder engines exclusively. We now know how frugal one of the tiny inline-three engines will be after the EPA released fuel economy estimates this week for the optional 1.3-liter unit.
Drum roll please: The Trailblazer 2021 will be back 26 miles per gallon city, 30 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined. These estimates are actually slightly lower than those of competing vehicles.
It should be noted that the estimates for this 2021 Chevy Trailblazer News are for the all-wheel-drive model, and we know that Chevy will adapt to the small crossover with a 1.2-liter line-three as standard equipment.
With the engine even smaller and the front-wheel-drive, these numbers will surely improve. But right now, the rival crossovers of Honda, Toyota and Kia have a slight advantage.

The Honda HR-V is the most direct comparison since it also offers AWD. The EPA estimates it will return a better mpg across the board with a larger, line-four engine at 27, 31, 29 mpg. Toyota’s C-HR does not offer all-wheel drive, but it returns identical estimates to the HR-V.
Another newcomer, the Kia Seltos, also matches the estimates of the Honda and Toyota with AWD and the 2.0-liter inline-four engine. The Celtics, however, also offers a 1.6-liter turbocharged zippier engine, which sees fuel economy estimates drop to 25, 30, 27 mpg. Front-wheel drive is the standard on Kia’s little ute too, which improves fuel economy estimates.
What the Trailblazer’s 1.3-liter engine provides is more power on the standard 1.2-liter engine. Assuming the power figures are identical to its cousin, the Buick Encore GX, the drivers will have 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque on the faucet. The smaller engine produces 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque.

Late last month, Chevy said his brand new Trailblazer would start at less than $20,000. Today we have official prices, and Chevy has kept his promise. According to Car and Driver, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer will start at $19,995; however, prices exclude fees and other fees. The price of less than $20,000 is for the basic L trim.
For $19,995 and a few changes, customers receive a 1.2-liter 1.2-liter 1.2-liter engine that powers the front wheels with a continuously variable transmission. Customers will pay $22,495 to switch to the LS tribe while all-wheel drive is an extra $2,000, but that also comes with a larger, 1.3-liter three-cylinder making 155 horsepower (115 kilowatts). This is the only other engine available for the model.
Like L and LS, the LT comes with the standard 1.2-liter mill, starting at $24,595, but customers can opt for the larger 1.3-liter engine as a standalone option or spend $2,000 to get both the plant and AWD.
The ACTIV and RS Trailblazers start at the same $26,395, but they are aimed at different customers. The ACTIV trim is designed to be the model’s off-road trim with a larger grille, Hankook Sport Terrain tires, and adjusted shock absorbers.

The 1.3-liter engine is standard, while AWD in this pad is an extra $1500. The high-level trim is the Trailblazer RS is the sportiest offer in the bunch, but only in appearance. The 1.3 litre is the standard with AWD being a $1500 option.
It’s been a decade since the Chevy Trailblazer graced American roads with its presence. Since then, customer expectations of crossovers have changed. GM has relaunched the license plate in the United States to expand its growing range of crossovers at a time when car buyers can’t get enough body style.
Like its big brother, the Blazer, the smaller Trailblazer has an aggressive style that looks more like a sports car than a crossover – and that’s not a bad thing.
