Outback, there’s a new set of rear lights that have cool interior elements, and tailpipes have a more premium look at ‘ em.
2021 Chevy Equinox RS
One of the Equinox 2021’s largest update is the addition of new upholstery. Equinox RS will bring a more sporty view of the SUV using glossy black grids, black badges and trim elements and wheels made of dark alloys. Inside, there is an RS-specific shift knob, red stitching, and black trim.
2021 Chevy Equinox Redesign
For the first time, we captured a glimpse of the revised Equinox at the beginning of the year when the images of the compact crossover Chevy appeared on the web courtesy of Chinese media.
Generally speaking, styling tweaks are pretty subtle, but the headlights have been exposed to more significant updates and are now divided into two. The shape of the grid now extends to the sides of the anterior fascia and half the headlights give the Equinox a rather interesting appearance. On the back, Chevy revised the rear graphics, but it is pretty much it.

The biggest news regarding 2021 Equinox’s launch of the new RS Trim brings a glossy black front grille complemented by more dark accents. Bowties, badges, and roof rails all come in black, as well as those 19-inch alloy wheels and quad exhaust tips. Inside, a new family member has a predominantly black cabin with contrasting red stitching and model-specific gear shifting.
Go to the flagship Premier Trim and you can also get a glossy black grid, but on this version, it’s combined with chrome inserts. There are new 19-inch alloy wheels, along with different stitching on the inside, where the center console has a glossy black finish.
2021 Chevy Equinox Interior
On the tech front, most everything is the same, including the Chevy latest infotainment system which carries both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the big BowTie does throw some new Equinox security system’s way. The Crossover now comes standard with Lane-keeping Assist, Lane-departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and the following distance-monitor. Throw away some extra money and you can also option parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking Assist, and Blind-Spot Monitoring.
2021 Chevy Equinox Engine
Chevy’s best-selling SUV and at the same time GM’s second-best-selling SUV will go on sale this fall with greater availability of security systems across the slope level. There will be a soldier on with a 1.5-and 2.0-liter turbocharged motor, with a six-speed automatic gearbox for the former and nine-speed for the latter. As before, customers will get to choose from front-or All-wheel drive.
Otherwise, Equinox is the same as before. The buyer has a choice of two gas engines, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 or 2.0-liter turbo-four. Depending on the engine, a six-or nine-speed automatic transmission is offered. All-wheel drive is available while front-wheel drive is standard.
2021 Chevy Equinox Specs

EPA rated both engines last year up to 31 mpg highway, which is on par with competitors. GM postponed a slow-selling, but more efficient Turboiesel Equinox at 2018.
No matter what is under the hood, Equinox rides on four wheels of an independent suspension tuned for all-day comfort. Chevy does not offer an off-road-adjacent or High-Performance variant; This year’s new Equinox RS is as close as it gets with larger wheels and black accents.
2021 Chevy Equinox Colors
